Kitco is always hung up. They are running the entire site on an old 486 DX 2-50 computer in the broom closet.

Yeah, I'm wondering if this is a record low index for the USD?

Yeah, but they did add another 16MB of RAM to it last month to speed it up. So I think that brings it up to around 64MB total.

Yeah, I think they borrowed that extra stick from Nadler's computer and found it is not compatible with the existing RAM. :D

Dollar down to 97 yen. Thank you, Ben. As long as Citibank stays solvent, I'm in good shape.

Re: Kitco hung up

has anybody remarked that...as dollar goes down against gold it goes down against Euro as well...so the price of Bullion in Euro moves upward slowly than the price in Dollars...this upward movement is only due to one force...the increasing price of gold and not the declining price of dollar...so Euro for the time being can be a good inflation hedge...it is more liquid than gold and cheaper than gold too...
I live in Europe...and even a cursory comparison of Gold Price Evaluation in Euros and Dollars reveals this phenomenon...because we see two different up-slopes...so for those who want to have an inflation hedge and can't wait for the pull back because dollar is going down very rapidly...switch to Euros and the nbuy gold in Euros at the pullback...
